| A series of 1000 sculptures each made of a ball of string manipulated to such an extent that it holds itself in a complex fractal like form entirely under its own tension.The resulting complex sculptures, are reminiscent of organic forms in nature such as coral, domestic handicraft such as lace and crochet, biological forms such as DNA, mythical structures such as the Gordian knot, as well as a mathematical series ‘fractals’, notably, the ‘Mandelbrot set’. |
