Still from 'Frozen in Time' (2013, Colour HD, 49mins)

'Frozen in Time’ (2013. Colour, HD. Sound 49 mins) explores the age-old desire for immortality through the prism of cryonics – the practice of preserving bodies at very low temperatures for indefinite time spans in the hope of a future reawakening. Weaving footage from cryonics institutes across the US where ‘patients’ are kept in ‘suspended animation’, emotional testimonials from leading figures in the field and glimpses of the training of cryonics emergency services professionals, the film is a meditation on the tension between faith in human ingenuity and the entropic processes that govern life as we know it.
